I currently have 7 dolls house projects, please have a look at all my photos and leave me any comments, info@dollshouses.co.uk.
Tudor Mansion
This is my favourite so far, as I have been able to make so much of the furniture. Every beam has been hand carved and stained before being laid into plaster (poly filler!) It is still very much work in progress, but I am really enjoying this project!
Georgian House
This was my first house!
Castle
This is next on the list to start, but you will see from the size of it, it will take a long time to complete! I bought this from a lady on the Isle of Wight who kindly brought it over for me on Valentines Day, 2006.
Dolls House Layer Marney Tower Castle
This unique dollshouse is a replica of England's tallest Tudor gatehouse, built in the 1500's, Layer Marney Tower near Colchester, Essex. As you will see from the photos, this dolls house is a very unusual property.
This magnificant Tower is 40.5 inches tall, 23 inches deep and 33 inches across. The main part of the house has 3 floors, the ground floor being 12.5 inches high, the first floor being 9.5 inches high and the second floor at 10 inches high. The rooms in the sides of the Tower are 7.75 inches wide by 4.75 inches deep. The ground floor is 10.8 inches high, first and second floor is 8.5 inches high and the third floor is nearly 13 inches high going up to the top of the Tower.
Due to the shear size of Layer Marney Tower, the structure of this dolls house has been rendered in 1/24th scale, however the internal dimensions are rendered in 1/12th scale for ease of decorating, lighting and furnishing. The reason it has been done this way is because a 1/12th scale structure would have to be over 8 feet high!
